1stwebdesigner (1WD) was founded in August 30, 2008, by Dainis Graveris. During the first month of the site being live, it received over 40,000 unique visitors, and to date 1WD receives over 3 million unique visitors each month.
1WD started with regular list articles for tools, themes, and tutorials from different websites, and as the audience grew, it began to welcome more contributors which helped 1WD grow faster.
Today, 1WD focuses on teaching people on how to become a freelance web designer/developer through our library of articles, eBooks and video guides.

Role: Owner & Founder of Awesome 1WD
Dainis Graveris is 23 years old blogger and designer, founder of 1stWebDesigner, now more silently managing everything behind the scenes. Rean John Uehara
Role: Editor / Invisible Guy
Rean is the editor of 1stwebdesigner. He regularly writes about freelancing, technology, web design, and web development. Rean also writes at Knowledge Salad, a blog filled with weird and interesting facts. One of his goals is to help his fellow Filipinos earn money online, to help them build a career out of working from home, just like what he has been doing for years now.
Daniel Kurdoghlian
Role: Programmer / Coding Ninja
Daniel Kurdoghlian is a freelance web designer, web developer and graphics artist living and working in Vienna (Austria). He is also founder of PushingPixels.at, a new media company specialized in web design, print design and photography. Michael John Burns
Role: Designer / Design Guru
Michael is a Web & Graphic designer based in Philippines. He started designing during his teenage years and most of his skills and knowledge are self taught. He's dating with Photoshop for about 4 years now and been flirting with HTML & CSS from 2011 to present. Other than that he loves Coffee and his Girl.
James Richman
Role: Makes Things Happen
James is very passionate about minimalist lifestyle and has started studying Buddhism. Web design has always been very close to him, so he is incredibly proud to be a part of 1St Web Designer Team. He loves to lead, create strategies and make things happen.
Marc Davison
Role: Proofreader
Marc Davison is the former editor of a weekly newspaper and a reformed designer. While still taking on the occasional freelance gig, he much prefers making a career out of being a Teacher's Assistant in Edmonton, Alberta. When he isn't proofreading articles and e-books, he can be found teaching his students the basics of design, cooking or learning how to create music.
