  1. Employee Retention: Critical, Expensive… » The EASTeam Blog

[...] Per Jeff Bosher, it’s seven times easier to maintain an existing client than is to go out and get a new client. Jeff says, ”On a common sense level, it just makes a good business strategy to try to maintain as many existing clients as you can.” Shouldn’t this apply to your own employees? In the key roles, you’d better believe it…What are your hiring stats? How much Direct Cost is related to identify, locate, recruit, hire, on board, train and develop new employees? Bottom Line: If it cost’s you ‘X’, how much would be saved (or earned) by improving your 5 year retention rate by 20-30%? Well, what say you? [...]

Great article and a timely reminder to go visit some of my clients’ blogs.

I’ve found that people like hearing your voice from time to time. Its always good to change it up from texting, emails, newsletters, tweets that aren’t always as personable as a phone call at times.

Strong Article, there is a lot of good value in it! I highly suggest everyone reading it all the way through, or at the very least skimming it to freshen your mind on older clients!

Great article and one that interests me a lot as a marketer. It’s astonishing how many businesses (and individuals) would rather spend money on marketing and advertising to create new business when they don’t commit any activities to maintaining their existing customer/client base.

CRM isn’t difficult and it’s relatively easy to further profit from introducing new and existing services to current clients, rather than trying to grow to replace lost clients by not having a CRM strategy.

Great post! Tho it’s not always easy if you are freelance.. and the only one in your team..

Agreed. Even though you are the only one on your team, working smarter will allow you to retain more work and provide additional value to the client. Heck, they may even be calling you instead of you calling them!
