Thank you Taimur for this list of portfolio online services.

I would like to suggest http://piwigo.com which is based on the opensource software Piwigo http://piwigo.org (you can compare Piwigo.org/Piwigo.com with WordPress.org = blog opensource software + WordPress.com = blog hosting service based on WordPress)

Piwigo.com costs $39/year for unlimited photos. One major advantage is that Piwigo can be highly “personnal” depending on theme and plugins you decide to activate. If you want even more specific features on your photo/image gallery, you can host Piwigo on your own website and modify it the way you want, you’re not locked on Piwigo.com in any way.

37 signals want to sell off Sortfolio so its future may be in jeopardy. I also found another portfolio builder in the vein of carbonmade.

How about something open source and that can export you portfolio to another site at a later date? Try http://www.foliospaces.com/ – it’s free too.

They’ve just released http://ProSite.com that syncs with your Behance Network portfolio – which, in terms of ease, cost, and maximum exposure – has proved pretty compelling. Check out some of their examples at http://prosite.com/home/examples
