One more logo showcase, but in this one you really will need to look twice! Every logo is carefully picked with second thought and I think such logos are really hard to create. Get inspired, hopefully this article will help you to look different at logo creation – it’s not always just about typography, good looking font and nice animation.
You need to really deliver message to people and you need to deliver the RIGHT message – those are logos, which will be remembered. Of course it’s hard task, but this collection should help to get better!

This one is my favorites logos and it is unforgettable! White playhorse which everybody knows and can recognize with black colored outline of child on the horse and black background which makes an illusion that child had disappeared. Amazing, what designers can create just from shapes and two basic colors!!!
Designed by The Brand Union
Avid’s logo is composed of simple geometric shapes derived from the fundamental buttons of the digital audio and video solutions: volume up, volume down, play, pause, record and forward, signaling of the companies core audio and video offerings. Company’s name is spelled out in distinctive and abstract letterforms.
Designed by Seamoose
Logo design for rock band from Vancouver B.C. This logo is very intelligent solution in my opinion. All what designer did was take all the letters of the word BISON and make them look like a bison body. I like the way how the body details are found within the letters, as tail or horn. The version linked seems like a much easier execution.
Designed by Stylo Design
Really original and fresh logo design with variations of an 8 to made word eight. Even the placing of TM is placed in the right place to create an angle and clarity of the design.
Designed by Landor Associates
This logo was created to drive public action on climate change. If everyone could change their behavior by just one degree, we could change the future of the planet. Both – number 1 and symbol of degree represents a person and meaning of conception.

Logo for guild of food writers. Spoon within a true nibbled fountain pen. There is a meaning!
Designed by Jovan Rocanov
The idea of this logo, which is designed for Consumer Society and Citizen Networks, of course was to show the protection of the consumers. There is combined a well-known symbol of the market such as the bar code (which graphically looks like the rain) with an ordinary umbrella (symbol of protection).
Designed by hemisferiod
Manipulation of the words within the clever graph representation.

The Mill is a post-production and visual effects company in the UK.! If the logo was seen only on its own it would not have the strength. Mill logo is hard to forget because of connection to The Mill – so strong and simple it is.

Awesome logos!
Tuesday, October 13th, 2009 15:18
Some of these are great but a few I think have put design and technique above communication, you shouldn’t have to look as hard as you do at some of the logos to get the initial meaning hidden meaning is great but the initial meaning should hit you in the face.
If you hadn’t told me that DJ loop was the name of the company it would have taken me too long to look at it and guess.

One of my favorites is the logo for Grande Punto from FIAT, the Italian car producer:
http://www.cartype.com/pics/1587/full/fiat_punto_05_logo.jpg
The ‘P’ has a “punto” (which is the Italian term for ‘dot’) over it, but it also can be seen as the head of a driver sitting in front of a driving wheel with both arms in front of him.

Love them. It is a great collection of logos that deliver strong messages through simple design.
Monday, October 12th, 2009 21:07
a logo needs to work in two colors. I agree some are interesting and work well. or at least start the design in two colors. the negative space on SOME of these are well done, however some are not and do not work. period. read some design books before posting “these logos rok yo!” terrible. the fold it is an interesting design, but it wouldn’t reproduce small well, you’d have to create a 2nd version. some are just illustrations, frogami… the haggar springs logo is probably the worst example up there… atrocious.
Monday, October 12th, 2009 19:52
that’s a great collection of logos. It can be tough to create a good, meaningful design, but creativity is always a great way to go. I love when hidden messages are integrated. it makes it much more interesting.
Monday, October 12th, 2009 19:46
you’re kidding! you’ve got it backwards! tidy tom’ sucked and the i hate/love you logo worked great on so many psychological levels.
Monday, October 12th, 2009 19:07
Really nice collection of logos (and I appreciate the fact that you linked to your sources). I will be revisiting for inspiration in the future.
However, your writing could use a lot of improvement, Dainis. Having a friend proofread the article before you publish would be a good first step. I think if you could express yourself as powerfully as your content, this would be a great blog!

The best one among all these logos is “Texas association of stolen children”….it is amazingly creative and intelligent use of negative space. Rest of the logos did not amaze me much as I have been using them on ‘n’ off on my blog but have lately I stumbled across amazing negative space logos
If not, then it's time to learn how to:

Beautiful logos, wonderful artwork, self-explanatory — no need for explanations, especially when such explanations are laden with errors.

One of my all-time favorite logos is the first one that I noticed had this creative melding of ideas: The original logo for The Milwaukee Brewers. The baseball glove is made up of the letters M and B, with the baseball in the middle of the mitt where the hole in the B should be. I’d lived in Milwaukee when I was a kid and never noticed it until I was in my 20s and it just blew me away that someone had been that creative!

Some of these are great, yes, but some of these aren’t great picks. I think this list should have only been about 20 logos long. Avid, DJ Loop, and more should probably have been left out.

This collection is nice but your insights on the logos are terribly written, uninformative and in some cases, just wrong. I’m assuming English isn’t your first language so obviously allowances can be made for this. It still doesnt excuse the lack of actual critique though. It is a good collection though and very inspiring so good job.
