Two of the most powerful sidebar plugins that I’ve come across recently are the QueryPosts plugin and the WidgetLogic plugin.
QueryPosts allows you to visually select from all of the different parameters that WordPress’ query_posts function provides and display the results in a widget.
WidgetLogic allows you to make conditional statements about a widget to determine if it will display on a specific section of your website.
